Financial Advisor Serving Red Bank and Nearby Towns

We meet clients from Red Bank and the surrounding Monmouth County towns at our office, or by phone and video. Before any work starts, you get the scope of the engagement and the factors behind our fees in writing, so you know what you are paying for.

Where Our Clients Come From

Many of the people we work with live or run a business a short drive from Red Bank, in Fair Haven, Little Silver, Shrewsbury and Fairview. Others come from Middletown and Holmdel. For a first conversation, an office visit is often simplest, since you can bring statements, pay stubs and old account paperwork, and we can go through them line by line.

We also work regularly with clients in Long Branch, West Long Branch, Eatontown and Tinton Falls. If driving in does not suit your schedule, phone and video meetings follow the same process: we review where you stand, agree on what the engagement covers and put the scope and fee factors in writing. Nothing is added later without your say.

New Jersey Rules That Shape a Financial Plan

  • State income tax and where you earn it

New Jersey taxes resident income, and some clients in the area earn wages in New York. That can mean filing in both states and claiming a credit for tax paid to the other one. We account for this when we set up withholding, choose which accounts hold which investments and estimate what you will actually keep.

  • Inheritance tax in legacy plans

New Jersey no longer has an estate tax, but its inheritance tax still applies to transfers to certain beneficiaries, such as siblings, nieces and nephews, while spouses and children are generally exempt. In legacy planning we look at who you intend to leave assets to and how each account is titled, then coordinate with your estate attorney so beneficiary forms match your wishes.

  • Retirement income

New Jersey does not tax Social Security benefits, and qualifying retirees may exclude part of their pension and other retirement income, subject to income limits. Those limits change the math on when to draw from an IRA, when to convert to a Roth and how much to take each year. Retirement planning sets that order in advance.

  • Property taxes and fixed costs

Property taxes in New Jersey are among the highest in the country, and for many families they are one of the largest fixed lines in the budget. Cash-flow planning treats them as a known cost, which matters most for retirees weighing whether to stay in the area or move, and for business owners deciding how much income to draw.

Start With an Introductory Meeting

Tell us which town you are in and what you want to sort out first. We set up an introductory meeting at our office or by video, and before any work begins you receive a written outline of the scope and what drives the fee.
