Financial Advice in Red Bank With Every Fee Spelled Out

We help individuals, couples, families, business owners and retirees with financial planning, investment management, retirement planning, tax management and legacy planning. Before any work starts, you get a written summary of what we will do and how we are paid. Clients come to our office from Fair Haven, Little Silver and Middletown, or meet by phone and video.

Advice That Covers Your Whole Financial Picture

Most money questions are connected. A Roth conversion changes your tax bill, which changes how much you can save, which changes when you can retire. We offer wealth management, financial advising, financial planning, investment management, retirement planning, legacy planning, tax management and life insurance consulting, so those pieces get looked at together instead of in separate offices. Pick the service that matches your question, or start with a broader financial plan and we will show you where the gaps are.

  • Advisor in a blue jacket points a pen at charts in a printed binder on a round wood conference table as two clients look on, laptop open beside them

    Wealth Management

Investments, retirement, taxes, insurance and legacy coordinated under one plan, with the scope and every fee spelled out before any account moves.

  • Advisor in a light blue shirt reviews pie and bar charts on a laptop and wall screen with a couple seated at a wood conference table covered in printed reports.

    Financial Advising

Focused advice on a specific money question, such as a 401(k) rollover, a job offer or a debt payoff order, with the scope and costs set out in writing first.

  • Three people seen from behind at a wood conference table reviewing a printed worksheet and yellow legal pad, with a laptop and a projected chart on the wall

    Financial Planning

A written financial plan that connects your cash flow, savings, debt, insurance and retirement accounts to the goals you name, with the scope agreed in writing first.

  • Two women seated at an office desk with dual monitors showing line and pie charts, one holding a printed pie chart summary, seen through an open doorway

    Investment Management

Ongoing portfolio oversight covering allocation, fund costs, rebalancing and tax-lot decisions, with the full scope and fees set out in writing first.

  • Advisor in a blue shirt points a pen at a bar chart on a round wood table while an older couple looks on, coffee mugs beside them in a small office.

    Retirement Planning

We map when to claim Social Security, which accounts to draw from first and how your savings turn into monthly income you can count on.

  • Advisor in a dark blazer gestures across a wood conference table toward an older couple, with a family tree chart and a stack of forms on the table between them.

    Legacy Planning

We line up beneficiary forms, account titles and life insurance so your wealth reaches the people you choose, with the scope and fee factors in writing first.

  • Over-the-shoulder view of an advisor and client reviewing tax papers and a spreadsheet on a laptop at an office desk with a printing calculator

    Tax Management

We look at where your investments sit, when you sell and how you draw income, so more of what your portfolio earns stays with your family.

  • Two people seen from behind at a wood conference table reviewing charts on a wall-mounted screen, with papers, a laptop and a coffee mug in a bright office

    Life Insurance Consulting

We work out how much coverage you need, compare term and permanent options and review the policies you already own, with every cost spelled out in writing.

What Shapes the Cost of Working With Us

Financial advice is priced by the work involved, not by a sales target. A single person rolling over one 401(k) needs far less than a business owner with equity, a pension and aging parents. Here is what moves the number, and all of it goes into your outline before we begin.

After the introductory meeting, we send a written outline of the scope and how we are paid. Nothing begins until you have read it and agreed to it.

How many accounts and assets
Each brokerage account, IRA, 401(k), annuity and insurance policy has to be pulled in, read and reconciled. More accounts at more institutions means more analysis time.
One-time plan or ongoing management
A financial plan you carry out yourself is a defined project. Ongoing investment management, with rebalancing, tax-loss harvesting and regular reviews, is continuing work and is priced that way.
Business ownership and complex income
Owning a business, holding stock options or RSUs, or receiving rental income adds tax and cash-flow questions. These take more modeling than a salary and a 401(k).
Legacy and family needs
Coordinating beneficiary designations, trusts drafted by your attorney, and gifts to children or grandchildren adds steps. So does planning for a family member with special needs.
Products with their own costs
Mutual funds carry expense ratios, and some carry sales loads or 12b-1 fees. Life insurance policies pay commissions. We list these separately so you can see what goes to the product and what goes to us.

About Our Practice

Financial Advisor Red Bank works with clients across Monmouth County who want clear, specific advice about growing, protecting and passing on their wealth. We started from a simple idea: a client should never have to guess what they are paying or why a recommendation was made.

That shapes how we work. We read statements line by line, we explain the mechanics behind each suggestion, and we put scope and fees on paper before work starts. If the question is when to claim Social Security or how to leave an IRA to your children, you get an answer you can understand and check.

How Working With Us Runs

Each stage ends with something you can hold onto, usually a document, so you always know where things stand.

  1. 1

    Introductory meeting

We talk by phone, video or at our office about your goals, your timeline and what prompted you to reach out. You will know by the end whether we are a fit.

  2. 2

    Gathering the details

We ask for recent account statements, your last two tax returns, insurance policies, and any pension or Social Security estimates. We read these closely, because fee structures and beneficiary errors often hide in the fine print.

  3. 3

    Scope and fees, spelled out

You receive an outline of exactly what we will do, what it will cost, and every way we are compensated. You decide whether to go ahead.

  4. 4

    Your plan and recommendations

We walk through the findings and the reasoning: savings rates, investment allocation, tax moves, coverage gaps. Each recommendation comes with the tradeoff it involves.

  5. 5

    Follow-through and reviews

If you choose ongoing management, we put the review schedule on paper and adjust the plan when life changes, such as a new job, the sale of a business, or retirement.

Why Clients Choose Us

The most common complaint about financial advice is not knowing what you are paying for. We set out to remove that problem first.

Scope and fees on paper before we start

After the introductory meeting, you receive a written outline of the work, what it covers, what it does not, and every way we are compensated. If we later recommend a product that pays a commission, we disclose that before you decide. There are no add-ons that show up after the fact.

Credentials that match the work

Our Series 7 and SIE credentials cover buying and selling securities in client accounts. We are also licensed to sell life insurance, so coverage questions can be handled alongside your investments rather than by a separate salesperson.

We explain the why behind each recommendation

If we suggest moving from a fund with a 0.9% expense ratio to one at 0.05%, we show you the cost difference over twenty years. If we suggest holding bonds in an IRA and stocks in a taxable account, we explain how that asset location affects what you owe each April. You should be able to repeat the reasoning back to us.

No pressure to buy anything

Sometimes the right answer is to leave an old 401(k) where it is or keep the term policy you already have. We will say so. A recommendation that adds cost has to earn its place in your plan.

Meet where it suits you

Meetings happen at our office, or by phone and video. Many clients do the first conversation by phone and the plan review in person.

Questions Clients Ask Us

How do you get paid?
It depends on the service. Planning work and ongoing investment management are priced by the scope involved, and some products, such as life insurance policies, pay a commission. Whatever applies to you is listed in your written outline before we start, and any product commission is disclosed before you decide to buy.
What happens in the introductory meeting?
We ask about your goals, your timeline and your current accounts, and you ask us anything about how we work. We do not sell products in this meeting. Afterward, if it makes sense to continue, we send an outline of scope and fees.
Do I need a certain amount saved to work with you?
Bring your question to the introductory meeting and we will tell you plainly whether we are a good fit. Some people need a one-time financial plan, others need ongoing portfolio management. The outline is sized to what you actually need.
Should I roll my old 401(k) into an IRA?
Not always. An IRA usually gives you more investment choices, but some employer plans offer institutional funds with very low expense ratios, and a 401(k) can allow penalty-free withdrawals from age 55 if you leave that employer. We compare both side by side before recommending a move.
Can we meet by video instead of coming in?
Yes. Meetings take place at our office or by phone and video. Many clients mix the two, depending on what is being discussed.
Do you work with business owners?
Yes. Business owners often have most of their wealth tied up in the company, irregular income, and retirement plan choices such as a SEP IRA or Solo 401(k). We look at those alongside your personal plan and succession goals.
What should I bring to our first real working session?
Recent statements for every investment and retirement account, your last two tax returns, any life insurance policies, and pension or Social Security estimates if you have them. Beneficiary forms are useful too, since outdated designations are one of the most common problems we find.
